Mechanical Engineer

As a member of our global new product development team, the Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for defining, designing, testing, documenting, and releasing new products for Nordson Electronic Solutions, ensuring they meet safety, regulatory, and quality standards while delivering value and performance to our customers.

Applies engineering principles leading to robust designs meeting all product requirements.
Designs mechanical aspects of products including fluid applicators & fluid management systems, automation machine frames & structures, and sheet metal in various forms, materials, and functions.
Develops and executes test plans providing sound data to prove designs meet the highest safety, regulatory, and quality guidelines.
Follows the stage-gate process, nVision, planning and meeting project milestones and cost targets on-time with quality.
Collaborates with Electrical and Software engineering disciplines to integrate designs into cohesive products meeting all performance requirements.
Partners with product line management to develop and review specifications.
Designs products for manufacturing and supports building and training for prototype builds and beta test versions.
Supports Voice-of-Customer (VOC) discussions with customers as required.
Performs additional duties as assigned.

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
4 to 7 years of experience or equivalent relevant experience.
SolidWorks design experience or equivalent is required.
Preferred experience with fluid dynamics, automation, and structural mechanical design.
Stage-gate and project management experience is preferred.
Experience developing and launching new products is a plus.
Experience with customer interactions and factory visits is a plus.
Familiarity with an Enterprise Resource Planning system, especially SAP, is a plus.
