Sales Engineer

The Sales Engineer plays a critical role in driving sales growth and ensuring effective sales operations within the Industrial Automation Business (IAB). This position supports and collaborates with various departments to achieve sales targets, maintain strong customer relationships, and contribute to the overall success of the company. The ideal candidate will have a robust foundation in engineering disciplines and be equipped to develop innovative solutions for clients in the industrial automation and manufacturing sectors.
Participate in the development of business, sales planning, and growth strategies, while preparing sales proposals and maintaining a sales pipeline to meet budgetary goals.
Develop and maintain a pipeline of potential customers through networking, marketing activities, customer meetings, proposal development, and presentations.
Stay informed about competitor information and participate in industry associations as per company policy.
Collaborate with internal teams such as engineering and product management to create tailored solutions that meet client needs.
Ensure business sustainability by balancing sales, profitability, and collection.
Develop and manage relationships with key accounts in the industrial automation industry, ensuring a deep understanding of customer needs and satisfaction.
Engage regularly with clients to assess their requirements and identify upselling or cross-selling opportunities.
Coordinate with key vendors and partners to create strategic advantages in selected vertical markets.
Collaborate with Application Engineers to ensure smooth project development/implementation, including risk assessments and technical solutions.
Manage the sales process to properly qualify customer requirements before committing resources.
Diploma or degree in Engineering discipline (Mechatronics/Electrical).
Proficiency in Windows applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
At least 3 years of experience in a sales function.
Strong knowledge of automation solutions and their applications.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Experience in distribution sales or related fields is a plus.
Knowledge of industry and market trends.
